Cat Bishop (she/they), M.Ed. Licensed Professional Counselor
about me
Before becoming a counselor, I spent over 15 years working as a research scientist. My own healing journey during that time sparked a deep interest in understanding the human experience and ultimately led me to pursue a career in mental health.
I earned my M.Ed. in Clinical Professional Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2023 and became a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma in 2025. My clinical training includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), grief counseling through Calm Waters, and specialized coursework on eating disorders and neurodivergence through the Renfrew Center. I’ve also completed trainings with the Oklahoma Sex and Relationship Institute, exploring topics such as kink/BDSM-affirming therapy, relational trauma, nonmonogamy, and attachment theory.
I work with individuals and partnered relationships navigating trauma, identity exploration, neurodivergent experiences, grief, life transitions, and mood-related concerns. My approach is relational and psychodynamic, drawing on IFS, narrative therapy, and other integrative modalities to help clients find trust and comfort in themselves and their relationships.
I currently practice on occupied Gáuigú (Kiowa), Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), O-ga-xpa (Quapaw), Wichita, and 𐓏𐒰𐓓𐒰𐓓𐒷 𐒼𐓂𐓊𐒻 𐓆𐒻𐒿𐒷 𐓀𐒰^𐓓𐒰^ (Osage) land.
